Participation in this program grants you a Mandatory 10% Insurance Discount. However, it also entitles you to potentially reducing accumulated points on your driving record by up to 4 points.
“Reduce up to 4 points on your driving record!”
The course is designed to allow up to 4 points to be reduced from your record. The points must have been received 18 months before you completed the course. Points acquired from prior or future traffic violations will not be affected.
The New York State DMV defines “point reduction” in a particular way. It doesn’t mean that the points or records of violations are removed from your record, but rather that any reduced points are not counted toward suspension or revocation of your driver’s license.
Once you’ve completed either our Online Defensive Driving Course or taken it in one of our Classrooms, we’ll notify the DMV, who will reduce your points appropriately.
