On Staurday Country Music Star and American Idol Winner Carrie Underwood’s dogs managed to lock themselves and her infant son inside her car. So let’s run through this scenario shall we……she puts her keys in her purse, purse on the passenger seat, gets out of the car and by the time she gets to the other side to get the baby out the dogs have stepped on the lock button and everyone is trapped in the car. That’s the official story line on twitter and social media.

I don’t know about you but I take my keys out of the ignition (i don’t carry a purse) i put them in my pocket and then yes I get out of the car to go and get the baby. When I use the diaper bag as a purse I strap that on top my body before I get out of the car if it has my keys in it. Something doesn’t seem right to me here. Also it shows that she didn’t have her dogs restrained in the car and as I have mentioned in past blogs pets need to be RESTRAINED in the car!

That being said thankfully her brother in law came and smashed the window and the baby and the dogs are fine. She took the time to tweet about it”

When your dogs manage to lock themselves, all your stuff & the baby in the car & you have to break a window to get in. #WhatAreTheChances

Then:

I should clarify. My bro-in-law was actually the window breaker in the “dogs-locked-the-car-door” incident today! But all is good now!

Safety and self-defense expert Jarret Arthur says that the first thing to do in a case like Underwood’s is to stay calm and call 911. “They have different tools that they can use so they can actually unlock your car,” Arthur told ABC News. Arthur also suggests a tool called a life-hammer, a $20 tool that can make a big difference. “You can use these to break the window … you just tap the window with it and it just shatters the window and you can pull it out or push it in and unlock the car,” Arthur said while demonstrating the tool.

Arthur also recommends investing in a carabiner keychain to avoid the potential of getting locked out entirely. So keep your keys on you! As always, DRIVE SAFE!
