I was in a parking lot with the baby the other day when a car came speeding through the parking lost, I had a few choice words for them then I got to thinking about all the traffic accidents caused by speeding, then I saw a billboard for the new Fast And Furious movie. A total of 32,719 people died in motor vehicle crashes in 2013. 1 The U.S. Department of Transportation’s most recent estimate of the annual economic cost of crashes was $277 billion dollars. 2 Contributing to the death toll are alcohol, speeding, lack of safety belt use, and other problematic driver behaviors. Death rates vary by vehicle type, driver age and gender and other factors.
Now I know that we all seem to be in a hurry most of the time but making it to your destination is more important than wrecking your car on the way there and possibly dying or killing others.
